 The creative team of HAEVP (The Houston Event Vendors & Professionals Organization) really know how to host one great mixer! Dione Gray-Branch, founder of HAEVP and her creative team of professionals are not only a class act, but an act that’s truly hard to follow. The awards ceremony was heartfelt and sincere, not just a bunch of rehearsed words. Mrs. Branch honestly values the people that she is connected to, a rare find among business these day. This event was great in every aspect. However, what I enjoyed most (besides Extraordinary Cakes fantastic cupcakes, lol) was actually “meeting” so many of my Facebook friends in person. As a business owner, I interact with a lot of people via Facebook on almost a daily basis. And in doing so, I feel as if I already know these same people, so meeting them in my opinion just takes it to a whole other level.

Thought I'd check in for a moment and give you a few updates. I have been busy, busy, busy these days working on lot of different projects. However, I did manage to take a little time for myself… yeah me! During my short intervals of “me o’clock” I did manage to get in a few movies. First, my daughter took me to see the Lion King in 3d. That was great. I hadn’t seen it since she was younger. It was just like when she was little only this time she paid! Then I actually stopped long enough to watch Burlesque and Country Strong on demand. Two very good movies I might add.  Not much going on with Divine Flame Candles. We did however work a new fragrance for Houston B.A.H.A. (Bags Against Hunger Association). They wanted a Limited Edition candle and we were happy to oblige them. Everyone really liked the new fragrance and so did we. It’s has a soft, pleasing aroma that's perfect for the winter months. Please check out their B.A.H.A. Candle page for more details.  Autumn is absolutely, positively my favorite season! To me autumn is the falling and then raking of all those perfectly golden leaves, viewing in awe and amazement the meticulously blended colors and hues of the landscape, the feel of the crisp cool air on my face and yes of course the delicious candy and caramel apples and the rich, buttery popcorn balls. Even as a child I loved autumn and although I am now an adult, I love it all the more!
And while I have no leaves to rake, I still marvel at the beauty of the season. I enjoy the shorter days and extended nights. I have always enjoyed the soft flickering light and the pleasant aroma of candles, but it seems as though I enjoy them even more during the fall. I especially like the richer, bolder fall scents that are usually introduced by candle makers this time of year. Unfortunately Divine Flame Candles will not be introducing any fall fragrances this year.

Well we sure are! Although the leaves aren't turning quite yet, you can certainly feel the wonderful and glorious oncoming arrival of Autumn. The fall season immediately brings to mind carnivals, county fairs, the Texas Renaissance Festival, Halloween, candied apples, candy corn and pumpkin pie! This is the perfect time of year for warm and delicious comforting foods like potato soup with ham and fresh out of the oven, piping hot, old fashioned yeast rolls whose golden tops have been brushed with melted butter.  The longer, cooler nights also bring to mind the soft glow and the dancing flame of a burning candle infusing an entire room with the rich, magnificant scents of the season. Divine Flame Candles is pleased to announce that we will be adding six new marvelous fall scents to the Zeke and Lucas Country Collection. Well I'm sure excited! I can hardly wait. Fall is my absolute favorite season. Along with its bright and sunny cooler tempartures by day and its darker chilly tempartures by night and its robust shades of red, orange, gold, brown, and even purple, it also seems to bring with it euphoric feelings of comfort. The Fall season ushers in its own special array of glorious scents of apple, orange, pumpkin, spices and more.
